For this project, my clients told me, "We have a garden. We want to serve beer and gastrofood." They knew what they wanted to do but were confused about the interior style. They looked at many examples from all over the world and they liked many different styles. So, before starting the design process, I had to convince them that we should keep the design simple and bring the products, the beer and the food to the forefront.
The design would be simple, but I would create an atmosphere and feeling that would allow guests maximum joy from the products .
The people of Izmir are known for their passion for drinking and are fond of their comfort; thıs was a crucial concept throughout the design process.
The business became an instant hit. A week after its opening, the people of Izmir, who are "fond of their comfort", were willing to wait in a long queue for their turn to experience the cosy garden. Product quality and the atmosphere we created were combined to produce this result, making us all feel that we have created something special.
At the end of the day, as a designer I realized
the best decor of a place is the people enjoying it.
